Mary Leesekamp, 94, died Friday, April 4, 2014, at Jones Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Laurie Riley will officiate at the services.

Surviving are nine children, Raymond (Rosemary) Leesekamp, Anamosa, Pat (George) Armstrong, York, Neb., Ann (Tom) Levsen, Olin, Margo (Gary) Long, Joshua, Texas, Jackie (Richard) Watkins, Alexandria, Va., Mary (Rodger) Griffith, Marion, John Leesekamp, Anamosa, Debbie (Bernie) Bohlken, East Moline, Ill., Eddie (Lisa) Leesekamp, Denver, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ron VanCleve; and a sister, Jane VanCleve.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo; a daughter, Dorothy; three grandchild-ren, three brothers and three sisters.
Mary Maxine Van Cleve was born June 27, 1919, at Humeston, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Fannie VanCleve. Mary graduated from high school in Des Moines and later attended college in the area. Mary married Leo Leese-kamp on Feb. 2, 1940, at Anamosa, Iowa. Mary worked at Ben Franklin in Anamosa, cooked for many years at the Rainbow Supper Club and worked at Huerter's Locker. She and Leo were among the founding members of the Anamosa Ambulance Service in the early 1970s.
