Mary Lee Kosina, 80, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha, Iowa. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 29, 2026, St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Burial: St. John’s Cemetery. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service, Cedar Rapids, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mary was born on March 12, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Leo and Mary (Jacobson) Kosina.
Mary was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. She attended Regis High School and Mount Mercy College. Mary was a teacher for 40 years teaching at St. Patrick Catholic School, St. Jude Catholic School, and La Salle Catholic School. She also worked part time at the Cedar Rapids Library for over 50 years.
Mary is survived by her brother, Tom Kosina, and many friends and neighbors.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Cemetery.
