Mary Pat Kula, 94, died Sunday morning, Feb. 5, 2017, at Jones Regional Medical Center, Anamosa. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Surviving are her two children, Robert (Linda) Kula, Cedar Rapids, and Janis Bulgren, Lawrence, Kan.; her three grandchildren, Chris (Susan) Bulgren, Melissa Bulgren, and Laura Bulgren and her husband, Stan Stohr; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ralph Jr., Thomas and Dorrance Keegan; and a sister, Rachael Knott.
Mary Patricia Keegan was born Feb. 23, 1922, near Ryan, Iowa. She was the daughter of Ralph and Josephine Leonard Keegan. She received her education at St. Patrick Catholic School in Ryan. Mary Pat married Robert Kula on Jan. 9, 1940, at Prairieburg, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Cass Center and Freemont areas, near Anamosa. Robert preceded her in death in 1994. Mary Pat was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Anamosa.
