Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Williamsburg, IA with Fr. Francis Mensah as Celebrant. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Memorials are preferred to Alzheimer's Association.
Mary Kathleen Malloy was born on November 25, 1953, in Iowa City, IA, to James and Margaret "Vickie" (Donohoe) Malloy. Mary grew up in Holbrook, IA, and graduated with the Class of 1972 from Williamsburg High School. Mary Kay worked for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Medtronic, AAA, and as a real estate agent for 17 years, most recently with Coldwell Banker. Mary Kay called the cities of St. Louis Park and Maple Grove home.
Mary Kay was a lifelong Iowa Hawkeyes fan and basketball enthusiast. She had a love for gourmet foods and boating, and found joy in gathering with her loved ones, especially her family and friends. Mary Kay was deeply involved in her Catholic faith, serving as a Eucharistic minister at Saturday evening mass at St. Joseph the Worker in Maple Grove, and volunteering with the Cross organization. She found solace in the quiet moments of reflection, surrounded by God's beauty. Her warm presence and infectious laughter brought comfort and happiness to all those around her.
She is survived by her life partner, Steve Hill of Maple Grove; siblings, Patrick of Rochester, MN, Robert (Lynn) of Des Moines, IA, Virginia of Las Vegas, NV, Marsha (Ken) Jones of Williamsburg, IA, Richard (Margo) of Portland, OR, and Charles (Deb) of Cedar Falls, IA; and many nieces, nephews, dear friends, colleagues, and extended family. Mary Kay was preceded in death by her parents, James and Vickie.
