MARY K. BEHR
Davenport
Mary K. Behr, 84, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at Genesis East Medical Center. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 11, at Zion Lutheran Church in Davenport; a service will follow at noon. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.

Mary was born July 30, 1933, in Charlotte, Iowa, the loving daughter of William and Loretta (Grill) Bielenberg. She graduated from Charlotte High School in 1950. She then attended Jane Lamb Nursing School, where she earned a degree as an RN.
She was united in marriage to Rodney Behr on Feb. 22, 1963, in Charlotte. Mary worked for the University of Iowa Hospital and later retired from Genesis West Medical Center in 1995.
She enjoyed playing the piano and was an avid Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs fan. She also loved watching her children's activities when they were at home. Mary and Rodney enjoyed traveling internationally. She was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Altar Guild, Bell Choirs and the Dorcas Circle.
Those left to honor her memory include her loving husband of 54 years, Rodney; daughter, Linda Flynn; sons, Dr. Nolan (Jeannie) Behr and Mitch Behr; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sisters, Joyce Eberhart and Abby Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Loraine; and a brother, Bruce.
