Mary Jane Tosh McConaughy, 64, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Cave Creek, Ariz., passed away April 26, 2018, at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at

Mary was born Sept. 24, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Dean and Jean (Clark) Tosh. She graduated from Regis High School. Mary Jane was united in marriage to Dr. Mark R. McConaughy in 1979 in Marion, Iowa. She worked for IBM & Securities Corp., and helped run the dental practice with her husband.

Mary truly loved animals, especially her beloved shih tzus, Morty, Jimmy and Mikey. She was an enthusiastic supporter of local animal shelters. Mary always was the life of the party. Her love of having a good time was infectious, and her joyful spirit brought much happiness to those who loved her.

Mary is survived by her husband, Dr. Mark R. McConaughy of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Cave Creek, Ariz.; daughters, Mary Kate McConaughy (Ryan Eidson) and Marianne McConaughy (Chris Pyle), all of Cave Creek, Ariz.; sister, Karen Sevcik of Hiawatha, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Jean Tosh; and grandparents, William and Frances Tosh and Frank and Eula Clark.
