Mary E. Goldsmith, 78, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, from injuries suffered in an auto accident. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Anamosa, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 until 7 p.m. Sunday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa.

Surviving are three children, Lance (Dawn) Goldsmith, Martelle, and Laine (Becky) Goldsmith and Lorie (Kent) Reynolds, both of Anamosa; eight grandchildren, Jacob (Katie Easterly), Hannah, Nicholas, Heidi (Eric Schmidt), James (Deg), Tessa, Lexie and Sebastian; her sister, Margaret (Floyd) Hermanson, Omaha, Neb.; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Steiner, Menomonie, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father-in-law, Guy and Ruth Taylor, her husband, Ron; a son, Linc; a grandson, Joel; and four brothers, Bob, Jim, Dick and William Steiner.
Mary Ellen Steiner was born Dec. 24, 1935, in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Anna Gerjets Steiner. Mary graduated from Monticello Community Schools with the class of 1954. She later worked at Collins Radio. Mary married Ron Goldsmith on July 13, 1958, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Monticello. The couple lived most of their married life in Anamosa. Mary worked at McAleer Water Conditioning in Anamosa, retiring in 1991.
Mary was a very active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. She was a member of the Friend to Friend group and the Red Hat Society. She was always ready to have coffee with her girlfriends.
