Mary Margaret Gilmer,
85, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at Living Center West. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family after 4 p.m.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Patty (John) Morris of Poinciana, Fla.; three sons, Bob Gilmer of Springville, Ill., Mike (Linda) Gilmer of Cedar Rapids and Tom (Sunny) Gilmer of Tupelo, Miss.; five grandchildren, Amaretta Gilmer, Jenna (Ryan) Day, Chad Gilmer, Justin Gilmer and Hannah Gilmer; a brother; and two sisters.
Mary was preceded in death by her infant son, William Joseph; a set of twin children; and a brother, John Manning.
Mary was born April 24, 1931, in Oswego, N.Y., the daughter of William and Mary Finocchio Manning. She graduated from Oswego High School. After retiring from the Lefebure Co., she worked for many years at Von Maur.
Mary loved her family and animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed spending her free time volunteering in the community and bringing smiles to children as Funny Face the Clown with the Happy Jesters.
