Mary Ruth Fisher was born May 17, 1924, near Parnell, Iowa, the daughter of Orlo C. and Amanda (Kauffman) Fisher. After graduating from Poplar Grove, she worked with her parents. She also worked as a domestic in Iowa City for several years. After retiring from Iowa
City work, she worked part time at Parkview Manor. She taught Bible school
at Sandtown Church in rural Hills. Ruth attended Pleasant Hill Methodist Church. Ruth passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, at Parkview Manor in Wellman at the age of 94 years.
Ruth is survived by a brother, Orlo J. Fisher of Richmond, Ky.; nine nieces and nephews; 10 great-nieces and nephews; and nine great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded death by her parents and a brother, Robert Fisher.
A Celebration of Life service will held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. Burial will be in Eash Cemetery, rural Kalona. Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
