Mary Ellen Weber passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Clarence Nursing Home. Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon, Iowa. Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery and luncheon will be after the burial at Gwen’s Restaurant, Lisbon.
Mary was born July 11, 1934, in Hawarden, Iowa, daughter to Floyd and Blanche (Anderson) Storts. She graduated from Hawarden High School in 1952 and was united in marriage Kenneth D. Weber on November 12, 1952, in Hawarden.
Mary dedicated 30 years of her career to Lincoln Elementary School where she was a cook. She cherished her family deeply and showed kindness to all. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, camping, traveling, and tending to her garden and flowers. Mary also had a special love for animals.
She is survived by her children, Susan (Dennis) Marolf of Muscatine, Kenneth (Karla) Weber of Morley, Steve (Sandy) Weber of Mechanicsville, Cindy (Jeff) Gilmore of Ames, and Nancy (Gary) Unruh of Mechanicsville; seventeen grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth in 1993; and grandson, Shane.
