MARY "EILEEN" LEKIN

Mary "Eileen" (Hutton) Lekin, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center in Cedar Rapids. Memorial services: noon Friday, March 20, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Family will greet friends one hour before the service. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, David (Joy) Lekin of Mountain Home, Ark., Carol Lekin of Cedar Rapids, Craig Lekin of Cedar Rapids, Denise Peal of Mountain Home, Ark., and Shawn (Doveanna) Lekin of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren, Tana, Melissa, Ross, Ryan, Breinn, Zach, Carol, Somer, D.J. and Andre; and two daughters-in-law, Nancy Lekin and Cheryl King.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Gary Lekin.
Eileen was born Sept. 12, 1925, the daughter of George and Martha (Rhoads) Hutton in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On Jan. 29, 1944, she married Paul Lekin.
Eileen enjoyed ceramics, her pet dogs and playing bingo with her friends. She loved cooking for her family and traveling whenever she could.
Eileen was a hard worker and helped with all the vitals of the family businesses. Her door was always open to anyone and everyone. Family and friends were an important part of her life. You would always hear "Come back anytime" after every visit.
