MARY CATHERINE "CATHY" STACHOW
Springville
Mary Catherine "Cathy" Stachow, 79, of Springville, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. There will not be a public visitation. A private family burial will take place at Springville Cemetery in Springville. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion, Iowa, is serving the family.
Cathy was born on Sept. 20, 1942, in Garden City, Mo., the daughter of Hugh and Mary Bollinger. She was a 1960 graduate of Springville High School. On Oct. 1, 1973, she was united in marriage to Ted Stachow in Chicago, Ill. Cathy worked at Von Maur in Cedar Rapids for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed bird watching and spending time with family. Cathy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cathy is survived by her children, Pete (Rochelle) Stachow of Whitewater, Wis., Lara (Kim) Stachow of Largo, Fla., and Patrick Cleary of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two granddaughters, Haylee and Rylee Stachow; brother-in-law, Larry French; two nieces, Lynn (Terry) Smith and Lisa (Bernard) Crump; and one nephew, Mike French; along with many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; her parents; and her sister, Mana French.
