MARY BOWSER Cedar Rapids Mary K. Bowser, 79, of Cedar Rapids, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Survivors include her children, Cyndie (Bob) Nelson, Dan Novak and Lori (Rupert) Novak-Ellis; stepchildren, Shelly Hoyt and Scott (Cindy) Bowser; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was born Jan. 19, 1935, in Iowa City, the daughter of Kenneth Busch and Kathryn Post. She married John Novak in 1952, later divorcing. On April 17, 1971, she married Billy Ray Bowser. He died in 2010. Mary will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; stepchildren, Brad and Connie; and a grandson, Jacob Novak.
