MARY BOOTH
Cedar Rapids
Mary Alice Booth, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Survivors include her children, Teresa (Joe) Krivanek, Laura Booth and James (Patty) Booth; grandchildren, Stephanie Werling, Tammy Krivanek, Joe M. Krivanek, Alicia Johnson, Cory Johnson, Adam Booth, Maggie Booth, Miranda Booth, Cassie Booth, Victoria Booth and Hunter Booth; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard Booth; and brothers and sisters.
Mary was born May 11, 1931, in Springfield, Ill., daughter of James and Frankie (Campbell) Paydon. She was a 1951 graduate of St. Luke's School of Nursing and worked as a pediatric nurse. On Dec. 24, 1951, Leonard and Mary (Paydon) Booth were united in marriage at Geneseo United Methodist Church.
She was a master gardener, former Girl Scout leader and founding member at Asbury United Methodist Church. She also was in a card club and sang in the church choir.
Mary loved animals, but she especially loved her family.
