MARY "BETTY" BIDDICK

Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Biddick, 92, of Cedar Rapids, died at her home on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, by the Rev. Philip Thompson. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Monday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m., and again on Tuesday after 9 a.m. at the church.
Betty is survived by two sisters, Della Barnett and Shirley Lemon, both of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, David (Marlene) O'Rourke of Marion and Bob (Sandra) Scott of Cedar Rapids; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale (1992); one brother, Mike O'Rourke; one sister, Rita Scheu; and one stepsister, Alys Ray.
Mary Elizabeth was born July 16, 1922, in Johnson County, the daughter of Leroy and Marjorie Lawler O'Rourke. She married Dale Biddick on May 30, 1946, in Charles City. She worked as an office manager at Rockwell Collins for 37 years, retiring in 1979. Betty was a very active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Betty loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed shopping, dancing and listening to music. Betty always looked forward to her monthly lunches with fellow Rockwell Collins retirees.
