Mary Ann Foltz, 76, of Iowa City, passed away on Dec. 28, 2022, at her residence.
Mary Ann was born on Aug. 3, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, to George and Marie (Skerik) Coleman. After graduating from high school, Mary Ann attended the nursing program at Kirkwood College, where she obtained her nursing degree. She then worked in the psychiatric unit at the University of Iowa Hospital for three years before transferring to Oakdale Correctional Facility where she remained employed until her retirement.
On July 6, 1966, Mary Ann married Roland Foltz in Rock Island, Ill., and to this unit, two children were born.
Mary Ann and Roland enjoyed many adventures together over the years. They loved to travel, take bike rides, eagle watch on the Mississippi and visit the Raptor Center. She also enjoyed tending to her garden and spoiling her cats.
Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband, Roland; daughter, Nicole Lockridge; brother, Warren Coleman; grandchildren, Kayleigh Bauer and Alaina Sedlacek; a great-grandson, Cooper Girvan; and great-granddaughters, Lacey, Adalee, and Mila Sedlacek.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Sidney; brother, Stan Coleman; and her son-in-law, Barry Lockridge.
Per Mary Ann’s wishes, cremation has been accorded and private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Iowa Raptor Project or the Iowa City Animal Care & Adoption Center. Online condolences may be shared at www.lensingfuneral.com.
