MARY ANN DEJAEGER DILLON

Mary Ann DeJaeger Dillon, 72, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at the Adler Center for Caring, Aldie, Va.
She was born May 20, 1943, in Waterloo, the daughter of Alfred and Marie McGrane DeJaeger. She married Brendan Edward Dillon on Jan. 29, 1973, in Freeport Grand Bahamas. He died Nov. 11, 2014. Mary Ann was a theology teacher at Regis High School in Cedar Rapids and Ursuline Academy in Dedham, Mass. She also worked in the chaplain's office at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton, Mass., and in the theology department at Boston University. She was a member of the Waterloo Women's Club, Right to Life, Waterloo Historical Society and National Bowling Association.
Survivors include: her daughter, Alanna Marie (Chris) Suda of Springfield, Va; a granddaughter, Grace Suda; a brother, Tom (Gloria) DeJaeger of Dike; and a sister, Debbie (Bob) Lucas of Evansdale.
She was preceded in death by a son, Sean Dillon.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at St. Edward Catholic Church with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also one hour before services Friday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to Capital Caring, 2900 Telestar Ct., Falls Church, VA 22042; in the name of Mary Ann Dillon for The Adler Center.
Mary Ann was an enthusiastic bowler, artist and bargain shopper. Her strong Catholic faith was a testament to all who knew her and something she instilled in all of her students. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
