MARY ANN DENNY Cedar Rapids Mary Ann Denny, 73, of Cedar Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids by Father Mark Reasoner. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Survivors include her husband, Jeff; her son, Aaron (Mandy) Denny; two stepdaughters, Alicia Denny and Rochelle (Chris) Northrup; six grandchildren, Gwendalynn, Caiden, Oliver, Zachary, Anthony and Hayden; her siblings, Butch (Glenda) Michel, Bob (Barb) Michel, Don (Sue) Michel and Dan (Deb) Michel; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Ann Donovan; grandson, Matthew Denny; a brother, Gary Michel; and a sister, Pat Kirk. Mary was born Jan. 5, 1944, the daughter of Gregory and Mabel (Silver) Michel, in Cedar Rapids. On May 17, 1980, she married Jeff Denny in Cedar Rapids. Mary loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, taking family photos and traveling with her husband. Her faith was very important to her, along with her family and friends.
