Mary Alice Levi passed peacefully away on Feb. 16, 2021, at Hiawatha Care Center. The family will be holding a private service.
Mary Alice was Born May 23, 1929, at St Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Clifford and Ethel Rundall.
Mary Alice met Bob when they were 13 years old and married after graduating high school on Jan. 31, 1948. They built a house on 21st NW in Cedar Rapids and lived there for 64 years. Bob died Dec. 8, 2015. She worked at Armstrong's for 16 years. Mary was a talented seamstress, enjoyed flower gardening, working in her yard and decorating her home. She and Bob traveled all over the United States, but particularly enjoyed the mountains. She was a member of the Camelot Club. Mary loved following her grandchildren's sports events and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan.
Survivors include a son, Steven (Carla) of Cedar Rapids; and a daughter, Sandra (Mike) McDonough of Hiawatha. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Chris, Dan and Scott Levi, Ben and Curt Schamberger, Julie Stimart, Jen Heckroth, Stefanie Bender, Matt McDonough, Kellie McDonough and Meghan Mauro; and 18 great-grandchildren; and her special calico cat, Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Bob; a sister, Joan; and a great-grandson, Beau Bender.
The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to the Hiawatha Care Center and St. Luke's Hospice.
A memorial fund has been established in Mary Levi's name.
