Marvin had a career in trucking, including working for P.I.E. Trucking, where he spent his time exploring the country's highways and byways, over the road trucking. Following retirement, he worked for Kirkwood Community College as a driving instructor and at Truck Country in Cedar Rapids.
Marvin enjoyed woodworking and was an avid fisherman. Together with his wife, they enjoyed traveling. Marvin was always planning their next trip. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends and was never at a loss for conversation.
