MARVIN THURSTON
Clarence
Marvin Dean Thurston, 66, of Clarence, passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Graveside services will be noon Sunday, Oct. 19, in Clarence Cemetery.
Marvin was born the son of James Herbert and Grace Thelma Wagner Thurston on Dec. 28, 1947, in Tipton. He attended Tipton High School. He was married for 21 years to Freida Mae Hoffner, raising four boys, Marty, Mickey, Micah and Toby. He spent the remainder of his life with Diane Hines, raising a daughter, Tara, who shares his birthdate.
Marvin is survived by his four sons, daughter, a daughter-in-law, eight grandkids and four great-grandkids.
He now joins his siblings, Albert Thurston, Jack Thurston, Earl Thurston, Robert Thurston, Fred Thurston, Tommy Thurston, Boneta "Bonnie Mae" Moffit, Betty Ann Cozad and Peggy Foxworth.
