Marvin Lawrence Prier, 83, of Manchester, formerly of Ryan, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Eunice Prier of Manchester; five children, Lial (Donna) Prier of Ryan, Pam (Bret) Schneider of Holy Cross, Pat (Deb) Prier of Aplington, Todd (Deb) Prier of Ryan and Terry (Becky) Prier of Marion; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his eight siblings, Germaine Deutmeyer, Eugene Prier, Gerald (Marilyn) Prier, Edward L. (Eileen) Prier, all of Dyersville, Kay (Ambrose) Eilers of Monticello, Charles (Janet) Prier of Dyersville, Willie (Bonnie) Prier of Dubuque and Loras (Mary Ellen) Prier of Cedar Falls; a brother-in-law, Elmer Oberbroeckling of Luxemburg; two sisters-in-law, Lavonne Clemen of Holy Cross and Grace (Leon) Pasker of Dyersville; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ryan, by the Rev. Joseph Schneider. Visitation: 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 20, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, where there will be a 2 p.m. Scripture service. Friends also may call an hour before Mass at the church on Tuesday. Interment with military rites: Calvary Cemetery in Ryan.
