Marvin Andrew Knapp, 91, of Waubeek, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, at Jordan's Grove Church, Central City, by Pastor Steve Russell. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Burial: Jordan's Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ester; his children, Gary (Ann) Cornthwaite, Brenda (Vern) Hartson, Thomas A. Knapp, Nancy Knapp, Roger (Dawn) Knapp, Clarence (Paula) Knapp and Marie Ganoe; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Violet Brislawn, Virginia Howe and Betty Daubenmier.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
Marvin was born March 21, 1923, in Marion, the son of Clarence Sr. and Gertrude (Glass) Knapp. He married Ester Etzel on Sept. 3, 1948, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Marvin was a lifelong farmer and sold Crow's seed corn for many years.
He enjoyed square dancing and gardening. Marvin was a member of Jordan's Grove Church in Central City for 41 years.
