Marvin S. Klein, 87, of Brooklyn, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center, Grinnell. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn, with the
Rev. John Dodds offici-ating. Burial will be in Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery, with military honors. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 1, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn.
Memorials may be contributed to the East Poweshiek Ambulance Service, Grace United Methodist Church or the Malcom VFW Post 733.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Darrell (Nancy) of Brooklyn, David (Sue) of Bowie, Md., Terraleen Stern (Bill) of Indianola and Mike (Julie) of Brooklyn; 10 grandchildren, Cassandra Hilton (Brannon), Lesli Kramer (Joe), Brett Stern, Alicia Klein, Matt Klein (Lisa), James Klein (Alicia), Trent Klein (Kari), Crystal Klein, Kristen Klein and Curtis Klein; and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings, Doris Shaffer of Reinbeck, Ivan Klein of Montezuma and Eileen Maxwell of Jacksonville, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Effie Share Klein; a grandson, Christopher Klein; a sister, Marjorie Youkey; and two brothers, Ronald and Christian "Gene" Klein.
