Marvin F. Ellwood, 95, of Marion, died Friday, March 6, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 9, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Mike Morgan
officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be in Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.
Survivors include his son, Jay (Mary) Ellwood of Bonaire, Ga.; son-in-law, Tom Pollard of Marion; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, Dwayne Ellwood of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois; daughter, Suzanne Pollard; brother, Ralph Ellwood; and sister, Beryl Hardy.
Marvin Frank Ellwood was born May 3, 1919, in rural Linn County, the son of Frank and Luana (Minehart) Ellwood. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.
On Oct. 23, 1946, he married Lois Burnside in Nashua, Iowa. She died in 2005.
Memorial donations may be given in his name to First United Methodist Church, Marion.
