Marvelle Cook, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Nov. 25, 2021, after a short illness.
Marvelle was born on July 22, 1939, to Lemon and Hattie Cook in Horn Lake, Miss. Marvelle left Tennessee at an early age and moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he worked various jobs, retiring from General Mills after 25 years. He was a man of strong character who cherished his family, the
love he had for his girls was undeniable. Marvelle enjoyed cooking, baking and all the latest technology, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Marvelle is predeceased by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his brother, Richard Sr. (Katherine) Cook of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two sisters, Carolyn Fitzgerald and Bonnie (Sammie) Baker of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Valorie McCall of Minneapolis, Minn., and Stacey Cook of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four grandchildren, Mario McCall of St Paul, Minn., and Rachelle McCall of Minneapolis, Minn., Kaia Cook Munger of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Ezekiel M. Cook of Haackenson, Pa.; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services 10 a.m. with visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, at Cedar Memorial Chapel Park Cemetery 4200 First Ave., NE. Burial at Oakhill Cemetery. Lunch to follow from 1 to 3 p.m. provided by Lucky Penny, 1705 Boyson Rd., Hiawatha, Iowa.
