Martin Walter Carlton, 62, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, at the Universoity of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. There will be no service, per Marty's request.
Martin Walter Carlton was born on Dec. 2, 1958, the son of Boyd Carlton and Judith (Carlton) Chandler. He was united in marriage to Mickey in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. For years he worked for Precision Dry Wall. Marty enjoyed doing puzzles, playing pool and playing slots and poker on the computer. He also was a sports fan. Most of all, he loved to fish and mushroom hunt.
Marty will be missed by all who know and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father; stepmother, Janis; wife, Mickey; stepbrother, Blair Harbaugh, and other loved ones. Left to cherish Marty's memories are his children, Travis and Tracker of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Tiffany Carlton of Fort Dodge; grandchildren; his mother, Judith Chandler of Cedar Rapids; his three brothers, Michael, Matthew (Tina) and Mark (Jenny), all of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Kathryn M. Durnan (Luke) of Walker and Kelly Carlton of Cedar Rapids; stepsister, Julia Coons; stepbrother, Bruce Harbaugh of Marion; nieces, nephews and extended family.
Thank you from Martin's family to Iowa City's Hospital Medical Oncology team, especially Dr. Finkbiner and social worker Irving, on doing and outstanding job taking care of him and supporting us through this most difficult time.
