Martin, Herschel Howard
Herschel Howard Martin, 96, of Maquoketa, formerly of Bennett, died Thursday morning, Aug. 20, 2009, at the Maquoketa Care Center. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at Carson & Son Funeral and Cremation Services in Maquoketa, where visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to service time Monday. Graveside services: 2 p.m., Inland Cemetery, Bennett.
Herschel is survived by his wife, Edna Martin of Maquoketa; children, Clyde (Barbara) Martin of Maquoketa, Dean (Linda) Martin of Anamosa, Donna (Dennis Gruenhagen) Martin of Blue Grass, and Kenneth (Dorothy) Martin of Blakesburg; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a half sister, Elna Radtke of Freeport, Ill.
