MARTHA MARIE SIMANOVSKY VANOURNY

Martha Marie Simanovsky Vanourny, 96, of Cedar Rapids, died Jan. 10, 2017, at Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha. Private family graveside service will be in Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Martha was born Feb. 20, 1920, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Ludvik and Barbara (Kubalek) Simanovsky. On Feb. 20, 1941, she married James H. Vanourny.
Martha was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marion as well as Waltonian Archers. She enjoyed watching her husband play in the Czech National Band and photographed the band's concerts.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Buresh of Cedar Rapids and Katherine Vanourny (Vincent) Huelskamp of Longmont, Colo.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Pat Simanovsky of California; and brother-in-law, Louis Vanourny.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Dennis Buresh; and brother, Franklin Simanovsky.
