Martha Carol (Smith) Krumrei, 89, passed away at the Hiawatha Care Center on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Martha was born on March 8, 1933, in Evansville, Ind. She was the daughter of the late William and Martha (Klamer) Smith. On April 5, 1953, Martha married the love of her life, Merton Krumrei in Evansville, Ind. Martha enjoyed reading, needle point, painting, drawing, and baking for her family. In her younger years, Martha enjoyed horseback riding and square dancing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Martha’s memory are her children, Neil (Clara) Krumrei of Grand Rapids, Mich., Dean (Kathy) Krumrei, of Robins, Iowa, Brian (Michele) Krumrei, of Sacramento, Calif., and Curtis (Molly McCormick) Krumrei, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Barbara Beyer of Greenwood, Ind., and Harriet Gridley, of Cape Coral, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Hiawatha Care Center for all the love and support to Martha, while she was in their care.
