MARTHA W. BEDELL
Whittier
Martha Winifred (Chamness) Bedell, 89, of Whittier, died Thursday, April 7, 2016, in the hospice unit at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, from the effects of a stroke. Per Martha's wishes, no funeral services are planned.
Survivors include a son, William, and a daughter, Elizabeth, both of Whittier.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, in 2011.
Martha grew up near West Branch, Iowa, and practiced nursing until marrying Donald in 1958. She spent the rest of her life as a farmer's wife and mother, taking care of her family with great dedication, for which we are very grateful.
