Marshall, Glenn N.
Glenn N. Marshall, 81, of 4617 Pine View Dr. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Masonic Rites will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 61 years, Jackie; and children, Monty Marshall and wife Donna of Severn, Md., and Wendy Tjelmeland and husband Marty of Fort Collins, Colo.
Also surviving are his sister, Patricia Murphy of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; and his daughter, Cindy Kloubec.
Glenn Nelson Marshall was born Sept. 21, 1928, in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Harold R. and Margaret E. (Stott) Marshall. He was a graduate of Wyoming High School and later attended the Milwaukee College of Engineering. He was united in marriage to Jacqueline White on Sept. 2, 1948, in Davenport. He worked as an electrical contractor for many years, and owned and operated Marshall Electric. He also, in later years, owned and operated the King Tut Lounge. He was a member of Trojan Masonic Lodge No. 548 and Kingston Masonic Lodge No. 676 A.F. & A.M. and El Kahir Shrine where he served as Chaplain Emeritus.
He was a member of the Royal Court of Scotland and was Grand Commander of the Knights Templar in Iowa in 1994. In 2008, he served as Chaplain of the Grand Lodge of Iowa A.F. & A.M. He also lead the Knights Templar Eye Foundation for 17 years. He continually gave to Masonry throughout Iowa and will forever be remembered for his contributions to the organizations he belonged to. He also enjoyed golf, bowling and spending time with his family.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.
The family requests memorial donations in Glenn's honor are made to the Knights Templar Eye Foundation or to the American Cancer Society.
