MARSHA SIZEMORE
Cedar Rapids
Marsha Sizemore, 68, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2014, surrounded by her family. Memorial visitation will be Tuesday, June 10, from 2 p.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 3 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 201 First Ave., Hiawatha.
Marsha was born May 23, 1946, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence "Gus" and Arlyne (Hilton) Bauer. The youngest of three daughters, Marsha grew up in Brandon, graduating from La Porte City High School. After graduation, Marsha lived in Brandon for about 10 years before moving to Cedar Rapids. She soon became involved with Shaklee, where she forged lifelong friendships. She would say that she never had clients, only her "Shaklee Family" that she so deeply cared for and helped for nearly 40 years.
Marsha had a passion for crafts. Some of her fondest memories were cross-stitching, knitting or crocheting with her sisters. Whether it was a Christmas ornament, doll clothes or a baby afghan, her talent was elegant and simply beautiful. Her favorite craft was when she could make a keepsake for someone, which was always made with love and came from her heart.
Marsha was selfless. She always would place her family and friends' needs before her own. She enjoyed life and loved her family, especially her daughter, who was her best friend, and her grandson.
Marsha is loved and survived by her daughter, Stacie Haugen and her friend, Allen Nadig; her grandson, Sammy Haugen; her brother-in-law, Lloyd Forsyth; and Marsha was a loving and devoted aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend of many.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her sisters, Gloria (Laverne "Pete") Peterson and Betty Forsyth.
Marsha will be missed by all who knew her.
