Marsha Rose Ohlen, 69, of Blairstown, died July 19, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following complications from surgery.
Private family funeral services will be held with interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown.
Marsha Rose Strong was born July 4, 1949, at Cornbelt Hospital in Belle Plaine to Charles and Martha (Beck) Strong. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School with the class of 1967.
She was united in marriage to William P. Ohlen on April 4, 1996. He preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 2012.
Marsha retired from Whirlpool Manufacturing in Amana following 40 years of dedicated service. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and would do anything for her granddaughters and great-granddaughter. She loved yard work, shopping and playing cards with her family and friends.
She is survived by her mother, Martha Strong of Belle Plaine; her daughter, Melissa (Jeff) Miller and their daughter, Abbie Mattison, all of Cedar Rapids; her son, Chad (Sherry) Mattison of Marengo and their children, Baylea (Grant) Hinrichs, and their daughter, Emma of Williamsburg and Ryann Mattison of Marengo; her granddaughter, Megan Ohlen of Chicago; her brother and sisters, Kay Ellyn St. John of Belle Plaine, Margo (Richard) Allen of Belle Plaine, Dale (Linda) Strong of Blairstown and Karla (Scott) Mumby of Belle Plaine.
She was preceded in death by her father; brother Terry Strong; and her husband, William "Bill" Ohlen.
