She is survived by her husband, Vance; children, Justin, Reagan and Kalen; parents, Chuck and Judy Avis; siblings, Vicky (Thane) Rockhill and Paulette Hearn; parents-in-law, George and Cindy Light; sister-in-law, Brandy (Todd) Tharp; nieces and nephews, Hunter, Elizabeth, Emma, Matt, Zeb, Cheyenne (Dallas), Mitchell and Colton; the Mount Vernon wrestling family; and pets, Dingo and Mustang.
Marsha was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Marsha Lynn Avis was born to Chuck and Judy (Goldsberry) Avis on Feb. 15, 1966, in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Alburnett High School with the Class of 1984, and later received an associate's degree from Kirkwood. On April 4, 1997, she married her love, Vance Light, at the United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon. Marsha worked in the commercial billing department of GE Capital, now Wells Fargo.
She enjoyed rooting for the Packers and Cardinals when she wasn't involved with Mount Vernon wrestling activities. Marsha also was passionate about her love of Christmas, snow and John Denver. But, most especially, she fought tirelessly to spend just a little more time with the family she loved.
The family would like to thank everyone who helped light up Mount Vernon for their special Christmas with Marsha.
Memorials are suggested to the Marsha Light Memorial at Mount Vernon Bank.
