MARSHA BRADLEY Cedar Rapids Marsha Kay (Baker) Bradley, 77, entered heaven on March 3, 2017. She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Dec. 12, 1939, to John and Alice Baker. She was a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids and graduated from Jefferson High School. She married Dennis C. Bradley on March 7, 1959. Marsha was employed by Cedar Rapids Public Schools for many years and retired from Taylor School in 1999. Marsha had a loving, compassionate and adventuresome spirit. She volunteered for ARC and was a longtime hospice volunteer. She was honored as a Cedar Rapids hero for her years of service with St. Luke's Hospice, and served as Grand Marshal in one of the Freedom Festival parades. Marsha was a lifelong member of Salem United Methodist Church and the Mariners' Sunday School class. She sang in the church choir most of her life. She was an avid reader, and also enjoyed traveling, biking, hiking and golfing. She had been scuba diving and parasailing, and went skydiving at the age of 65. Marsha loved games and played in numerous bridge clubs throughout her life. She was blessed with the gift of baking and had an art for making pies. Marsha was a phenomenal wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend. She is survived by her husband, Dennis C. Bradley; and children, Denise Symonds of Plano, Ill., Melinda (Mike) Weaverling of Cedar Rapids, Trisha (Tim) Zimmerman of Charlotte, N.C., and Chris Bradley of Cedar Rapids. She also is survived by her seven grandchildren, Casey Mountain, Alex Symonds and Shelby Coan, Kristen and Bradley Weaverling, Jillian and Kaylin Zimmerman; brother, David (Gayle) Baker of Asheville, N.C.; and sister, Maneta Hunter of Cedar Rapids. Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Baker; and sister, Sandra McMurrin. A celebration of Marsha's life will take place at Teahen Funeral Home on Monday at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. Stasia Fine. Friends may visit with the family after noon Monday at the funeral home.
