Yvonne Marsh, 85, a resident of Marion and Cedar Rapids for the past five years, died Dec. 30, 2011, from complications related to Alzheimer's disease.

They attended the same church and schools and after one year of college and one year of country school teaching, Yvonne married Bob and they began to farm. In addition to her homemaking and motherhood skills, Yvonne taught piano to hundreds of students, traveled extensively as a tour guide, was active in her church, and a leader in volunteer work in her children's music and sporting activities.
Over the years, Yvonne and Bob lived near Central City, Neb., Ravenna, Neb., Rensselaer, Ind., Webster City, Iowa, Littleton, Colo., and Marion/Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Survivors include her brother, Dr. Dale Nitzel (Wauneta) of Hastings, Neb.; children, Diane (Al) Beach of Cedar Rapids, Richard (the Rev. Kay) Marsh of Longmont, Colo., and Tom (Denise) Marsh of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
