Marsh, Lucille Lash
Lucille Lash Marsh, 86, of Madrid, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Oct. 11, 2011. Graveside services will be held at noon Saturday, Oct. 15, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Mount Moriah section. The Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer of St. Paul's United Methodist Church will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan (Dale) Sample of Maryland Heights, Mo., Nancy (Timothy) O'Connell of Edwardsville, Ill., and Joan (Bob) Maxwell of Woodward; her brothers, Newell of Cedar Rapids and Robert Wilson of Canistota, S.D.; her sister, Betty Armstroong of New Braunfels, Texas; and her sisters-in-law, Shirley Coon of Marion and Joyce (Bert) Lanier of West Columbia, S.C. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two sons, Rick and Kenny; her brothers, Max Lash and Richard and James Wilson; her brother-in-law, Dutch Coon; her sister-in-law, Naomi Lash; and her ex-husband, Kenneth.
Lucille was born May 31, 1925, in Deep River, Iowa, the daughter of Mary Cochran Lash and John Lash, and lived all of her life in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Franklin High School and attended Coe College. She was a homemaker and she was active in her children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's lives.
Lucille was an avid card player and loved to play poker and bridge. She played bridge with the same bridge club for over 50 years. Four years ago she moved to The Cedars in Madrid, Iowa.
Memorial donations in Lucille's honor may be made to ACTS Fund at the Madrid Home, 613 W. North St., Madrid, IA 50156.
