Marsden, Dawn Ann
Dawn Ann Marsden, 52, of Cedar Rapids passed away Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Cedar Memorials Certified Celebrant, Julie Freese, will officiate. Friends my call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, David; her children, Jody (Chad) Willett of Alburnett, David Marsden (Jennifer) of Cedar Rapids, Terra Sykora of Cedar Rapids, Angela Marsden (Tim) of Mechanicsville, Nickolas Marsden (Adrian) of Cedar Rapids, and Chase Marsden of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Haley, Tavius, Brody, Tate, Hunter and Claire; one sister, Kim Sykora of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Patricia Sykora.
Dawn Ann Sykora was born Aug. 30, 1958, in West Palm Beach, Fla., the daughter of George and Patricia (Dorman) Sykora and grew up in the Czech Town area of Cedar Rapids. Dawn married David Marsden on April 11, 1981, in Cedar Rapids. Before retiring due to her illness in 2008, Dawn worked for Shelton Technologies for 16 years. Dawn was a member of the Cedar Rapids Corvette Club and loved to travel with friends. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother and grandmother. Family was the most precious thing to her.
Memorial donations in Dawn's name may be made out to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha.
