Marquardt, Linda L. (Gray)
Linda L. (Gray) Marquardt, 65, of Friend, Neb., died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, in Crete, Neb.
She attended Marion Rural Independent School, near Cedar Rapids, and graduated in 1964 from Linn-Mar High School. She graduated from Youngs School of Beauty and was united in marriage to Micheal Marquardt on March 20, 1970, in St. Joseph, Mo. She was co-owner and operator of Friendly Lanes bowling alley in Friend until October 2000.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Wanda Marquardt of Crete; a daughter, Christy Motis of North Platte; stepdaughter, Pam and Todd Sharp of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three stepgrandchildren; twin sister and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Larry Van Lancker of Cedar Rapids, Jim Steele of Marion, and Gene Vecchione of East Meadow, N.Y.; a “sister,” Lavonne “Trix” Chamness of Cedar Rapids; and nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Mike in 2011; sisters, Judy Steele and Muriel Vecchione; and a stepdaughter, Terry.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, St. John's Lutheran Church, Cordova. Interment, Andrew Cemetery, Friend. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Friend, Neb. Friends may also call one hour before services Wednesday at the church.
