MARLYS RADDATZ Troy Mills Marlys L. Raddatz, 82, current resident of Keystone Place and formerly of Troy Mills, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha surrounded by her family.
Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Murdoch Funeral Home, Center Point, with the Rev. Jill Cameron Michel officiating. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the funeral home.
Burial: Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills. Marlys Louise Cameron was born Aug. 15, 1932, in Troy Mills, Iowa, to her parents, Clarence and Laura (McAtee) Cameron. She married Dean H. Raddatz on Dec. 1, 1951, in Center Pont.
She is survived by her husband, Dean; three children, Richard Raddatz of Cedar Rapids, Kevin (Laurie) Raddatz of Walker and Dawn (Mark) Hepker of Center Point; seven grandchildren, Kyle Raddatz, Trent Raddatz, Tiffany (Chris) Nielsen, Justin (Megan) Raddatz, Lexie Raddatz, Lindsay (Justin) Machacek and Nicole Hepker; five great-grandchildren, Jackson and Quinn Nielsen, Ella Raddatz, Miley Raddatz and Nolan Machacek; one brother, Douglas (Pam) Cameron of Marion; two sisters-in-law, Marlene Cameron of Marion and Jean Cameron of Council Bluffs; and several nieces and nephews. Marlys was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Delmar and Duane Cameron.
She worked at a dry cleaning store in El Paso, Texas, in the office at Wilson and Co. in Cedar Rapids and was employed at K-Mart for 17 years. Marlys enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, camping and wintering in Texas.
She was a member of the Troy Mills Christian Church, teaching Sunday school and volunteering with the Ladies Club in Troy Mills.
