MARLIN BLAKE CLARK
Springville
Marlin Blake Clark, 59, of rural Springville, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, after losing a fight with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories officiated by Certified Celebrant Amy Hart. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marlin was born Feb. 23, 1956, at home in rural Springville, Iowa, to Marvin and Ruth (Hawley) Clark. He graduated from Springville High School with the class of 1976. He was employed at Cherry Burrell from 1981 until 2003.
Marlin enjoyed NASCAR races, canoeing and taking motorcycle and bicycle rides. He loved working in his garage, lovingly referred to as his "airplane hangar." He was always working on projects, if he wasn't fixing something for others, he was fixing something for himself. He was a perfectionist. Marlin was an excellent welder and machinist. He was great with numbers and had a wonderful memory. He had his own unique brand of humor.
Marlin is survived by his friend, Peggy Lee Oettinger, together for "28 years minus one;" daughter, Marlena May Clark; sister, Marty Clark (Don) Harper; brother, Paul Curtis Clark; sister-in-law Lori Oettinger (Mark) Thompson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Ruth; his twin brother, Mark; sister, Bette Gifford; his dear friend "Bud" Oettinger; and two beloved dogs, Griffin and Jack.
In lieu of memorials, Marlin requests that people "pay it forward" in his name.

As Marlin often said, "You get outta life what you put into it!" and "So it is written; so it shall be."
