Marlene Joan Wiegand, 74, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, in Kavala, Greece.
The funeral service will be on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral at the church. Inurnment will be Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marlene was born June 11, 1942, to Marcus and Lois (Mager) Linse in Pittsburgh, Pa. She graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids in 1960. She was united in marriage to Tom Wiegand on Aug. 1, 1970.
Marlene loved to sew and go shopping. She enjoyed sitting down with a good book, magazine, or one of the numerous blogs that she followed. Most of all she loved to spend time with her grandson, Noah.
Marlene is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Tom Wiegand; their two daughters, Heather (Charles) Sauer of Boone and Heidi (Brad) Conerd of Cedar Rapids; her grandson, Noah Conerd; and her siblings, Joyce Muhlhauser of St. Louis, Mo., Mark Linse of Volga and Cheryl Linse of Stone City.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Mark's Lutheran Church Pastor's Discretionary Fund.
