MARLENE "MARTY" KAY WEEPIE

Marlene "Marty" Kay Weepie, 65, of Independence, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at the Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center in Culpeper, Va., after a brief and difficult battle with cancer.
Marty was born June 10, 1950, in Arlington, Iowa, to Arnold and Inez Hamlett. She married Gregory Weepie in 1971 and was a homemaker, daycare operator and high school aide. She was the mother of three, Nicole De Spirito (Mike), Teresa Ledbetter (Michael) and Tyler Weepie, and the grandmother of Alexander Van Dusseldorp, Vincenzo De Spirito and Dominic De Spirito. Marty is also survived by her brother, Dennis Hamlett (Peg) of Cedar Falls; and her sister, Sherri Hanaway (Chuck) of Independence.
A Celebration of Life will be held in March.
