Marks, Kinnick Dean
Kinnick Dean Marks, infant son of Jonathan and Amanda (Conzett) Marks, of Dubuque, lost his short battle to hypoplastic left heart syndrome on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Nativity Catholic Church, Dubuque, with the Rev. Scott Bullock officiating. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2659 JFK Rd., Dubuque, where a wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A Nativity parish Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Kinnick was born May 29, 2012, in Iowa City, Iowa. His mom and dad will miss his smile and big, beautiful eyes the most. We enjoyed our 3 short months with him and were glad to have him in our lives. We love you “Spike.”
He is survived by his parents, Jonathan and Amanda Marks of Dubuque; maternal grandparents, Jim and Lois Conzett of Dubuque; paternal grandparents, Doug and Peggy Marks of Marion, Iowa; maternal great-grandparents, Darlene Conzett of Dubuque and Clement and Betty Pins of Epworth; paternal great-grandparents, Don and Connie Brown of Independence and Ruby Marks of Rowley; paternal great-great-grandma, Betty Carson of Independence; aunts, Abbie Marks and Emily Conzett; uncles, Ben Marks, Andrew Conzett and Adam Conzett; and three cousins, Emily, Landon and Mason.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandpa, Ronald Conzett; and his paternal great-grandpa, Roger Marks.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Ride for the Kids to benefit the University of Iowa Children's Hospital Brain Tumor and Heart Defect Research.
Kinnick's family would like to thank the University of Iowa Children's Hospital Cardiology team and PICU team for the dedication, hard work, and compassionate care given to Kinnick.
