Mark "Wang" Arthur Wanerus, 47, of Robins, formerly of Marion, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life: 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at the funeral home in Marion. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Karla; mother, Peg Robison; sister, Pam (Peter) Elliff; grandmother, Fern Struchen; two nieces, Jessica and Jennifer Elliff; uncle, Wayne (Barb) Struchen; and two cousins, Yvette Clapp and Tracey Struchen.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tyler Peterson; father, Ted; and grandparents, Edwin "Dutch" (Edna) Wanerus and Gene Struchen.
Mark was born Oct. 4, 1967, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, the son of Ted and Peg Wanerus. He graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 1986. Mark worked at Kettelson RV for 18 years. He married Karla Younker at their home in Robins on Dec. 22, 2013. Mark enjoyed racing and was an avid car man.
