MARK "GRIZZ" KRUCKENBERG

Mark "Grizz" Kruckenberg, 58, of Anamosa, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 9 until service time Monday.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; children, Nick, Kristina, Monte (Shelly), Holly (Scott), Heidi (Jeff) and Abby; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; mother, Donna; and siblings, Lyn (Geri) Kruckenberg and Kimery (Tom) Lorenz.
He was preceded in death by his father, Allen.
Grizz was born March 14, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Allen and Donna (Hill) Kruckenberg. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1975. Mark served in the United States Army from 1975 to 1978, serving in Germany. After his discharge he owned a gas station in the Ellis Park area of Cedar Rapids, then worked at Swiss Valley Dairy, and later was a mechanic for various places. He then started his own construction business, Grizz Construction.
Grizz loved monster trucks, motorcycles and had a heart for rescuing animals. Grizz enjoyed camping, working on his acreage and spending time with his family. He loved being a grandpa.
