Mark “Grav” Glenn Graver, 63 of Lisbon, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Mark was born on June 19th, 1961, the son of Jean and Everett Graver.
Mark was a man of many trades and even more stories. A lifelong farmer, skilled welder, and gifted mechanic, he spent much of his career as a respected lead foreman for Cedar Rapids Inc., where he earned the admiration of coworkers for his work ethic, sharp wit, and no-nonsense attitude. Whether he was fixing a machine, leading a crew, or helping a neighbor in need, he always gave it his all.
Outside of work, he found joy in the simple, honest pleasures of life—riding his Harley down an open road, casting a line in a trout stream, camping under the stars, or spending time with the people he loved most. He was never happier than when he had a cold beer in one hand, a smoke in the other, and laughter all around. He will be remembered for his grit, his heart, and the way he always stayed true to himself.
Mark is survived by his children, Nicole (Adam) Samuelson, Levi (Brittney) Graver, Christina Atkins, and Ben Atkins; grandchildren, Luella Samuelson, Leon Graver, and Lyla Graver; brother, Michael (Liz) Graver; sister, Michele (Keith) Williamson; and his four-legged partner-in-crime, Shelby; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The family will be holding a gathering at Baxa’s Sutliff Store and Tavern, located at 5546 130th St NE, Lisbon, IA 52253 on June 1st from 1-4pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes cards and heartfelt messages, though they are not expected.
Please send all cards to Levi Graver at 305 Grant Ave Cir, Lisbon, IA 52253.
