Mark Edwards, 50, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday morning, Sept. 14, 2014, at UnityPoint Health–St.
Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Friends are invited to Cedar Memorial Park Family Center and Library at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, to gather with friends to remember Mark.
After relocating from Florida, Mark worked in the Cedar Rapids area as a laborer on construction, landscape maintenance and gardening.
Mark possessed an endearing childlike sweetness and vulnerability. No one tried harder to do a job well and appreciated a kind word of praise more than Mark. Watching him orchestrate the planting of a flower bed, listening as he talked and argued with himself in the process and the obvious joy he felt in nature, was a lasting gift Mark left us.
