Marjory J. (Arvidson) Cortimiglia, age 96, passed away at the Hallmar Care Center in Cedar Rapids, IA on Sunday, September 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, with the Certified Celebrant, Cindi McKee officiating.
Marjory was born on November 11, 1928, in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Hazel (Seymor) Arvidson. She married Dr. Frank J. Piper; together they had two wonderful children, Janet and Stephen. After Frank passed away, Marjory later met and married Leo Cortimiglia. Marjory worked as a music teacher as well as was in sales for the Automated Business Forms Company.
Those left to cherish Marjory’s memory are her children, Janet (Thomas) Knott of Marion, IA, and Stephen (Ann) Piper of Cedar Rapids, IA; her grandchildren, Christopher (Jen) Knott, Ashley (Erik) Boyer, and Austin Piper; her sister, Marilyn Blackhurst; a stepdaughter, LeAnn Cortimiglia; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and both of her husbands.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to a charity of one’s choice.
